In Her Words
Praise God! It is summer.
I really needed to get more frequent about updating my page on our website. I promise to communicate more often in the days to come.
Last time I wrote, it was about getting your day started with the word, exercise and coffee. It is still the best start of my day.
It is the beginning of summer here in Virginia and I can't stop thinking about the goodness of the Lord. We have four beautiful seasons that reflect God's artistry and wisdom through His creativity. Every year as summer begins it burst forth with beautifully vibrant color, sweet aromas and delicious tastes. I love the smell of strawberries that hit me, whenever I go into our local supermarket. I remember as a child stuffing myself with them until my tummy ached. Now being mother of two I have enjoyed passing down that delight. The kids and I enjoy our strawberry indulgences.
As you know Glenn and I have our busiest season of none stop ministry for ten weeks in June, July and August in our town Ashland. It is a great time of growing, learning and also stretching. I enter this season with an understanding of rest in the Lord like never before. It is all His work we are just HIS vehicle so it is HE who is the helper and the one who blesses. We cannot make things happen only the Lord can and the end result is so that HE gets all the Glory.
In all the seasons and all the personalities God reveals HIMSELF. Like with myself, my southern way is more down to earth and direct! I just say what I think and I am amazed how people respond. I have received so many invitations and they keep inviting me back again and again. People are hungry for truth and being real, they see all the diplomacy on the news and when it comes to the issues in life they want truth even when it hurts. They know when truth is dealt it will bring healing and strength.
I pray that during these next few weeks of your summer you will find rest in the Lord. Nothing or no one can bring satisfaction like Jesus can. Look to him and you will never be disappointed. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Have a great summer! Don't forget your sunscreen!!
